First Holy Communion Programme 2021

St Anne’s Catholic Parish would like to invite candidates for the 2021 First Holy Communion (FHC) programme.

The 2021 FHC programme is for young people in Year 4 and above who, for one reason or another, have not yet had an opportunity to prepare for and receive First Holy Communion.

The 2021 programme is not available to Year 3 children. The parish is changing over to offering its FHC programme to Year 4 and above – children currently in Year 3 will be offered the programme in 2022 when they have moved up to Year 4.

The programme has 12 sessions; six on Reconciliation and six on the Eucharist.  Parents are the main teachers of faith and attend with their child at each session.  There will be a Reconciliation service after the first six sessions – depending on numbers, this may be in small groups or as one group.

Bearing in mind current COVID-19 restrictions and the possibility of further lockdowns in 2021, we are cautious about projecting dates, but we hope that it will be possible to complete the programme during the spring and summer terms. The First Holy Communion Masses are planned for summer/autumn of 2021 depending on when we are able to start the programme.  At present we cannot confirm the dates.

There will be a parents’ evening before the programme starts to explain the process and advise on proposed dates.

If you have any questions regarding the programme please contact Theresa Rudley on 07742 649580 after 6.00 p.m.

To register your child for the 2021 First Holy Communion programme please complete the online form by clicking here https://stanneschertsey.wufoo.com/forms/z19a2s1q0p57nnj/  Please ensure that you have the date and location of the young person’s baptism to hand before starting to fill in the form.
By the 1st March 2021.

The parish is looking for catechists to assist with the 2021 and 2022 programmes.  Volunteers have found this a very rewarding experience giving testimony on how Christ lives in their life and receiving spiritual uplifting from the families who attend the sessions. Anyone interested in assisting as catechists, please contact Theresa Rudley on 07742 649580.
